Grading
Use the Grading section to create assessments and grade student work with feedback.
Getting started
- Create an assessment: Click “+ New Assessment/Task”, enter a name, choose grade type (A to E, Marks, Percentage, or Other) and grading method. Custom “Other” scales define rung labels; any grading method is available, and for Marks or Criteria & Marks you map percentage bands to each rung. Upload a criteria matrix if appropriate. Select options for the grade report. Upload exemplars if desired, and set year plus subject. Select grading strictness (leave at 5 initially, then grade a submission and adjust accordingly). Finally choose whether the original work check will run each time. Assessments and tasks can be grouped into sections (eg by class) using the Add to group function when editing or creating assessments or tasks.
- Submit student work for grading: Use the “Submit for Grading” button, enter the student’s name or nickname, upload a PDF or images of handwritten work, then submit for grading. Alternatively, provide students with the student submission link so they can self-submit.
- View grades: Click the “Grade Archive” button to see all graded submissions for that assessment or task. You can view the full grade report and download the original student submission. Please note that students do not get access to any stored grades.
- Modify grades: Click the “Grade Archive” button, then the “Edit” button, and change the overall grade and report as needed.
- Download student submissions: Click the “Grade Archive” button, then the “Download” button.
- Print & Download: Individual grade reports can be printed or downloaded from the “Report” button in the Grade Archive, or the entire set using the “Print / Download” button at the top of the Grade Archive.
- Sharing: Use the “Share” button and send the link to other teachers, who can use the “Import Shared” button. This works for assessments and tasks and for worksheets. For example, if you are the subject area coordinator and create all the assessments, tasks, and worksheets, send those links to the other teachers of that subject so they can import them into their own MyGrader accounts. Another option is to share the actual MyGrader account and duplicate assessments or tasks into different groups (classes)—for example a MyGrader account for Junior Science rather than a personal account for a single teacher.
Credits & billing
- No membership fees or recurring charges.
- You only pay for credits used when grading and using other features.
- View usage (grading, original work checker, and worksheets) in the dashboard Usage section.
Task Tutor
Task Tutor provides students with a task specific tutor that knows your task sheet, criteria, and exemplars from the assessment/task setup. Task Tutor provides teacherly advice without writing the work for them. Advice is provided as dot points rather than full form sentences and includes suggestions for improvements.
Setting up Task Tutor
- Add a task sheet: When creating or editing an assessment, optionally upload a task sheet PDF or paste the task description into the Task Sheet field. This becomes the context the tutor uses to answer student questions.
- Open Task Tutor settings: Click the “Task Tutor” button on an assessment card to open the settings modal.
- Usage limit: Set a maximum number of questions each student browser session can ask per time period (e.g. 5 questions per day) to manage credit usage.
- Date restriction: Optionally set a From and Until date to control when students can access the Task Tutor. Students visiting outside that window will see an unavailable message.
- Save settings: Click “Save Settings” to apply changes.
Sharing with students
- Student link: Copy the student link from the Task Tutor modal and share it via Teams, email, or your LMS.
- QR code: Use the “↓ QR Code” button to download a QR code image, “⎘ Copy QR” to copy it directly to your clipboard for pasting into Teams or email, or “Show QR” to preview it on screen.
- Student experience: Students open the link, type their question, and receive guided feedback. The tutor will not write the task for them—it encourages thinking and understanding.
Credit usage
- Credits are consumed per student question. Monitor usage in the Usage section of the dashboard.
Original Work Checker
The Original Work Checker analyses a student submission and assesses whether it appears to be original student work or has been generated by AI or copied from another source.
Running a check
- During grading: When creating or editing an assessment, enable “Run original work check”. The check will run automatically as part of each grading submission and the result will be incorporated into the Grade Report.
- Standalone checker: Use the “Original Work Checker” tab in the dashboard to run a check independently of grading. Enter a student nickname and year level, then either paste text directly or upload a PDF or images of the student’s work.
- Results: The checker returns a verdict (Original / Not Original) and a detailed report explaining its reasoning. Results are saved to the checker archive.
Archive
- Click “View Archive” to see all past originality checks, including the verdict and report for each submission.
- Individual records can be deleted from the archive, or use “Delete Archive” to clear all records at once.
Credits & billing
- Each originality check consumes credits.
- View usage in the Usage section of the dashboard.
Worksheets
Generate PDF educational worksheets for printing or online completion.
Worksheet types
- Quiz: Multiple choice, true/false, and fill in the blanks questions
- Crossword: Interactive crossword puzzle with clues
- Word Search: Find hidden words in a grid
- Fill in the Blanks: Complete sentences with missing words
Getting started
- Create a worksheet unit: In Worksheets, click “+ New Worksheet Unit” and fill in Unit Name, Subject, Group, Year Level, and optionally Overview and Vocabulary Words. Group uses the same list as the Grading tab (e.g., by class); create or pick a group when editing or creating.
- Generate worksheets: Select the unit and click “Generate Worksheets”, choose worksheet delivery type, and select worksheets. Add optional titles. You can generate several at once or one at a time. Run “Generate Worksheets” again to add more of the same type (e.g., extra Crosswords).
- Download and print: Click the “Worksheet” and “Answers” buttons to preview, download, or print.
- Online completion: Click the “Copy link” button and give that link to students (for example by email, your favourite LMS, Teams, and so on). Online worksheets are auto-graded when students finish; the grade is shown to them directly.
